Vendor Call Newsletter Questionnaire

Hello everyone!

As most of you know, I'm pretty on top of the craft show scene here in Toronto. I participate in as many shows as humanly (and financially!) possible.  Over the years, I've been asked by fellow artists to keep them apprised of vendor calls across the city and I have to the best of my abilities.

But my list of artist friends has grown and grown and keeping everyone up-to-date (via email and Facebook) has become quite a task! That's why I'm asking you all to fill out this questionnaire: For less than a cup of coffee per month, you can receive vendor calls from in and around the city! Let me spend the time trolling the internet for artistic opportunities... all you have to do is check your email and apply!

So, sound good?

2.26.2011

WORLD DOMINATION SCHEDULE: March !!!

FRI. MARCH 4th

CRAFTSTOCK FESTIVAL
Fri. March 4th
8PM - 2AM
Kapisanan Phillipine Center For Arts And Culture
167 Augusta
(Kensington Market)
Toronto, ON
DIY craft culture and indie-folk music seem to go together so perfectly in my mind, I decided to make a night out of it with some of the best Toronto-based bands and artists of the genre at the super cool Kapisanan Phillipine Center For Arts and Culture in Kensington.

spirit oak: bre (broken telephone) and mark (thin hotel)'s wonderful super folk duo opens the night with - you guessed it - super folk awesomeness.

http://www.myspac...e.com/THESPIRITOAK

LUM (first rate people sideproject): though first rate people were not able to play due one member's absence, first rate person liam sanagan will be playing a set with or as his sideproject LUM. i would expect insanely hooky folk-pop if his band material is anything to go by. I've been told he will be "rocking the beats."

http://www.myspace.com/firstratepeople
http://www.myspace.com/lumtunes

union duke: phenomenally fun indie-bluegrass band. i lived in halifax for a year and am not the biggest fan of bluegrass, but these guys are amazing and everybody who's seen them says so.

http://www.myspace.com/unionduke

the elwins: indie twee folk pop awesomeness. check out the video for sitting pretty on their myspace.

http://www.myspace.com/theelwins

seoul: fashion-folk from ben landau (formerly of burn planetarium) and crew.

http://www.youtube.com/user/icommaemily#p/u/5/Q0BGF_L25M8

the box tiger and friends (unplugged set): the box tiger have been gaining a lot of momentum in the indie scene, but i asked them if they could unplug for the night and play an acoustic set to show people another side of the band they don't usually see. not only will they be playing their own stuff, but some they'll be joined by some other friends for a little songwriters circle towards the end of the night. stay tuned to find out who will be joing them.

http://www.myspace.com/theboxtigermusic

and there will be a small crafts fair going on. get there early to check out what's for sale while things are quiet, cuz later it's going to get...less quiet...

Crafters at the show will include:

kate swan - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fierce-Deer-Jewelery/182722618434845

kristin wulff - http://www.knottednest.blogspot.com/

About the fair:

The Toronto Erotic Arts and Crafts Fair is a one-of-a-kind sexy fair that brings together artists and crafters just in time for Valentine's Day. Knitters, crafters, zinesters, card makers, and artists of all types will be creating erotic objects for this one day celebration of DIY sex and romantic culture.
