My Attempt at Baking for the Holidays PART II

So I've had gingerbread dough sitting in the fridge for a couple of days trying to work up the energy to make some cookies. So yesterday I tackled half the dough and here's what came out. *The following pictures are rated R due to violence against pastry* Oh, and don't bother telling me I'm deranged...I already know.

My Attempt at Baking for the Holidays

Because this is my blog and I can, I'm posting my foray into holiday baking:

These were for a party my dear friend Erica was having.

Gingerbread Cupcakes with Coconut Icing

What they were "supposed" to look like:

What mine ended up looking like (still mighty tasty tho!):

And I made some candycane cookies from my mom's recipe. Of course I couldn't just stick with boring red and white cookies so I busted out my new neon food coloring and let 'er rip!

Some Recent and Not So Recent Works

Long post. Brace yourself!

Older ATC stuff:

My husband liked this one so much he kept it:

These were done waiting in the airport on my way to/from Arizona:

And some random ones:

These were notecards for a vampire swap. I almost didn't want to send them I like them so much.

This one has the definition of Vampyre written on the white paper:

And now for some newer stuff:

This was an order for 12 note cards. I took individual photos but for some reason they all have a yellow tinge to them. And since they've been sent off....moral of the story is check pictures before mailing items! Some are missing because the photos are already on my blog.

Rubber Stamp Nirvana!

I recently ordered stamps from a couple different companies. I was happy with everything I received but one company BLEW ME AWAY. I'm a sucker for grab bags. I like surprises. For the most part, I'm lucky if I can use 50% of the stamps I recieve (and that's a high estimate). But that is not the story with the stamps I received from Sideshow Stamps. I opted for the Macho Grab Bag which is $18.99 and includes 30 unmounted stamps (I also bought a voodoo doll stamp because it was too cute for words!). So, I'm going through the stamps and I'm like "Oh! I can use this!" and "This is awesome!" I mean, there were dinosaurs, skulls, words, big foot/monkey, cool little accent stamps...the list goes on! Of course everyone won't get the same combination, but that's half the fun. All the stamps on the site are amazing and unusual. PLUS I thought it was an awesome idea that the company stamped their name on the back of the stamp. It's so much easier that way when you look at the stamp and say, "Hey this is awesome. Where'd I get it and can I get more?" So if you haven't realized by now that I'm really impressed with Sideshow Stamps I will say, I'm really impressed with Sideshow Stamps. Go there now and buy lots of stuff!

Review One: Lost Coast Designs: FIVE STARS

So I ordered some stamps from Lost Coast Designs for a Zetti swap on Craftster. These stamps are amazing! Such detail! Here are a few cards I made:

And the wings on this one:

I love that I can use these easily without mounting them (I'm real lazy) and it was a great value, too. Plus shipping to Canada was extremely reasonable. Not to mention Linda was extremely helpful and answered all my questions quickly and efficiently! I say give this company a try!

I know, I know...I'm a slacker

I know I promised reviews on some companies I ordered ATC supplies from...and I will review them SOON! I just need more than five minutes to sit down and write them. In the meantime, enjoy these ATCs I made for a Pick A Theme swap on Craftster. Themes from left to right are Charlie Brown, Medical, Fairy Tale, Midwife, Mona Lisa, and Zetti Animal:

I can't stop...

Ok, one more...I ordered a few stamps from Lost Coast Designs. Okay, but hear me out...I HAD to...for a swap...honest. There's gonna be a Zetti ATC swap on Craftster and these were just toooo perfect! So, I should be recieving them soon. And I promise a full review! :)

You take the good, you take the bad...

Well, maybe throw a fit over the bad. Never, ever, ever buy ink pads from Walmart. They will only bring you dissapointment and heartache. I've barely used mine and haven't had them very long and they're already all dried up. :( Well, what do you expect for $3 I suppose. Now I'm looking for new ink pads...but they're all so expensive. *pout* I wish I had realized before I put in my stamp order...

So now the good! I put in a stamp order! Unfortunately they will all be black images for a bit (see note above!). I ordered from River City Rubber Works. A little over $3 US for a grab bag? You betcha I'm gonna be ordering some! All their unmounted rubber stamps are 30% off until the end of the month. I may just go back for more!

So I should be recieving my RCRW and CollageStuff packages by the end of the week. Stay tuned for reviews of the awesomeness! :)

Woot-Woot!

I just put in an order with Collage Stuff. I am SOOOO excited! I can't wait to get my package! And the shipping to Canada was really reasonable. And how can you go wrong with a 12 unmounted rubber stamp grab bag for $10? I will definitely update with a review when I recieve my stuff! :)

Me so lazy...

Wow...haven't posted in a while. I'm such a slacker...and I haven't been doing much art-wise lately either...but here's a couple things:

Watercolor ATC. "Humours Part I: Sanguine"

My Chemical Romance swap.

Etching on mirrors:

Group ATC:

And that's it. Not much I know. Well, actually there's a couple more but I can't post them until their new owners recieve them...
